  • Do I Have the Right to Choose Where I Get My Vehicle Fixed?

  • Will the Paint Match the Color of My Vehicle?

    Yes! The manufacturer installs a paint code in your vehicle that allows us to mix paint precisely for your car. At Kraftsman Auto Body, we mix your paint on location to achieve the perfect color match. Our computerized mixing system produces a color formula from a combination of over 80 different color tints. Our digital scale allows us to mix to 1/10 of a gram accurately!

  • Insurance Dilemma: The Insurance Company Said If I Didn't Take My Vehicle to a Shop on Their List, I Would Be Responsible for Anything Unpaid. Is This True?

    Kraftsman Auto Body has been dealing with insurance companies since 1982. Differences in repair estimates are common. Don't be surprised if the insurance estimate is lower than the body shop's estimate. The insurance company can only write an estimate for what they see. Don't worry. If additional work is needed to repair your vehicle, we will return to the insurance company for the difference. Your vehicle repairs are our primary concern to be sure you and your family are back on the road safely. We make sure your vehicle is back to pre-accident condition.   • When Can I Wash and Wax My New Paint?

    Kraftsman Auto Body goes the extra mile, so you won't have to worry about your vehicle when you come to pick it up. After we complete the repairs, we treat your car to a complimentary interior and exterior cleaning. The new paint finish is baked in our spray booth to assist with the curing and cross-linking process so it can be gently hand-washed. You won't need to, but if you want to apply a wax or polish, you'll need to wait at least 60 days. Wash with a mild soap with no wax in the soap.

  • How Do I Maintain My Vehicle's Finish?

    At Kraftsman Auto Body, we use a sophisticated refinishing system and Dupont products. Here are some helpful tips:

    • Remove stains and bird droppings as soon as possible to prevent acid etching of the new paint finish. Avoid parking under trees.
    • Avoid extreme temperatures.
    • Avoid spilling chemicals such as antifreeze or coolant on the finish.
    • We never recommend drive-thru car washes or pressure washing your vehicle.
    • Always wash your vehicle in the shade.
    • Use a mild soap with a soft cloth to wash your vehicle. Stiff brushes or sponges could mar the finish and damage the surface.
    • Use clean water to rinse your vehicle, and use a chamois to dry. Do not dry wipe; it could scratch the finish.
    • Avoid gravel roads; chipping the finish is easy in the first 30 days.
    • Do not wax or polish the vehicle for at least 60 days; this will allow the finish more time to cure.

  • Do I Have to Take Photos of My Vehicle and Submit Them to My Insurance Company?

    We work for our customers for safe and proper repairs. In most cases, you, as a consumer, must be made aware of the correct angle of a photo to have the appropriate estimate for a repair. We at Kraftsman Auto Body will gladly take all the proper images, write an estimate and submit everything to the insurance company. We will save you precious time.
